Native of Lohuec in Central Brittany, Annie Ebrel has been a world-renowned ambassadress of Breton culture since the age of 14. With a unique timbre, and a voice of incredible precision, she is opening up the field of Breton song. From concerts at the Maison de Radio France, Theatre de la Ville in Paris, or festoù noz, to her surprising meeting with Italian bassist Riccardo Del Fra, her kan ha diskan (traditional singing for dancers) and her gwerzioù and sonioù (laments and songs to be listened to) resound and vibrate all over the world. Through working with other musical worlds and mixing her melodies and voice with non-traditional instruments, rhythms and harmonies, Annie Ebrel confronts traditional repertoire with the most contemporary musical forms, such as her amazing projects with Olivier Ker Ourio, Jacques Pellen or Jacky Molard.
